Goshen July 26th 1847
My Dear Sister
I hasten to communicate to you
the event which was dreaded by us all, Julia Ann
Birth: 1811-08-26 Death: 1847-07-24

died on Saturday the 24th ULT.
A ^week^ preivous she was thought to be much better
herself and friends were much encouraged very much
but on Monday she began to loose and sank
rapidly untill Saturday at noon she requested
her Mother

to change her clothing and wash her
shoulders with spirits, raised herself in bed turned
her feet out on the floor and commenced letting down
her clothes from her shoulders. her Mother then washed
her shoulders. Julia says “Oh how good that does feel”
and immediately dropted her head and sagged away
on to her Mothers shoulder and breast, Mrs Van B
raised her head up and her countenance was changed
she breathed but two or three times and expired
without a struggle or groan.
Her friends not knowing of any wish or Fathers

were her remains should be deposited, made instant
preparation for her funeral which took pace at
2 o,clock on Sunday — Julia did not appear to
feel or apprehend her near dissolution and to
us at Florida it was very . Father and

very favorable report as to her situation a week
before she died.
Excuse me for stopping short her I have
come on to this place to bring a young lady
