My dear Mrs Seward
I am sorry that my
letter should have found
you so sadly employed,
and glad that your father
Birth: 1768-12-05 Death: 1849-08-24

in-law is out of danger.
Our time here, has passed
delightfully. We have linger
ed rather too long and
will now be obliged to
hasten home. We leave
here to-morrow for
Mrs William H. Seward

Chicago and after spending
a short time at Detroit
and Niagara will be
with you the twelfth of next
month. Father expects to at
tend the State fair at
Syracuse while we remain
with you. Should you go
there, we will accompany
you. The weather here, has
been delightful, there was
only one day in July when
we really suffered with the
heat. Lately it has been
chilly. There have been but
few Indians here this sum-
mer. There was a report

among them that the Cholera
was here, which prevented
them from coming. The
society here has been very
pleasant, but all our
friends have now left us
and we miss them so
much that we shall be
glad to go too. Father has
written to my brothers

to
join us in Detroit and
travel home with us. I am
glad that you will be
there as I am very proud
of them.
I do not wonder that

that you found the walks
and drives here charming:
to me they are perfectly
fascinating; and I never
spent two months so
pleasantly in any place.
We are fond of the water, and
rowing in the evening has
been a great source of en-
joyment. We shall be glad
to meet your niece

again,
and I hope we shall find
your sons

there too. Remem-
ber us both to Mr Seward

&
your father and believe me
Sincerely yours,
H. M. Webb.
