The letter written in the hand of Frances Miller
SewardDear Aunty
Are you all
well – There has been
many Free Soil people
and many fire men
carrying the engine
and had red fire
shirts – Dear Aunty
will you come to your
home – I want to
come to your house
Page
2
There was a band of
music all came &
I had to put on my
bonnet and go out
and hear it – Dear
Aunty I will be glad
when you come to see
me – I wish Eliza
would come too
and Boger
what are the squirrels
all doing —
Page

I read my
letters to Mother
I have a dear little
trunk – I keep it always
I have a nice little
doll to play with
I played with it
last night —
I am going to put
all of dolly’s things
in my trunk —
Page

I got some sweet
grapes in the garden
to day – I have
a good little book
that I read Grand
Pa
I like it very much
All the work I
have to do is to
say my lessons —
Your affectionate
daughter
Fanny
