Boston June 9th ‘53
My dear Seward,
Your words at Niagara were timely,
felicitous, instructive, & admirable
in every way. I rejoice in that speech,
because I think it must give you
strength; I did not fail to note the
concluding words. Good!
Our Convention proceeds slowly with
too much talk.
I hope to hear of Mrs Seward’s
Birth: 1805-09-24 Death: 1865-06-21
health.
Give her my true regards.
Ever yours,
Charles Sumner
