plans for windows, doors &
roads. I am requested to
write to you – Fanny wants
me to ask you if she is
to pay a bill of $ for
tile? it has been twice
presented and she awaits
your decision in regard
to it – We are having
most delightful weather
and the building is progress-
ing finely – all will
be finished before Christmas –

Fanny commenced writing
to you on Thursday in re-
gard to a request Mrs. Smith
made – I will copy all
she wrote – I presume it
is all there is to write on
the subject. “Mrs Smith
has been here and wishes
your influence for an ap-
pointment in the West Point
Academy of her grandson
Richard
she thinks it better to apply early”–
I will write again tomorrow
