Auburn Sept. 14, 1856
My dear George,
I came home from Washington with health
impaired so much that I was determined to seek a
rejuvination by a voyage up the Mediterranean. But the
condition of my affairs prevents, and I am here
awaiting what time may bring forth of health or
decline –
I think you will do well to remain
where you are as long as it shall be agreeable
to yourself and Julia
Birth: 1824-02-11 Death: 1895
.
I have not been at Goshen yet –
since leaving Washington.
Affectionately your brother
William H Seward
George W Seward Esq
Hudson
Wisconsin
