Albany Dec 13
My dear Mother,
We are just in
the middle of our inventory and
consequently very busy’ the prospect
is that we shall not finish much
before the 1st of next month.
I have been this evening to Dr
Haynes
Unknown
lunch’ “he” is thought here’
to be a very fine speaker’– as there
no doubt he is but it seemed to me
as though his manner of speaking was
better fitted for the stage than the
pulpit.
I have not seen Fred
Birth: 1830-07-08 Death: 1915-04-25
&
Anna
Birth: 1834-03-29 Death: 1919-05-02
since last Sunday when I
was up there to call’ Fred tells
Page 2

me that he shall try
and go up home during the
holidays; I do not think that
I shall be up again very soon but
perhaps before I you go to Washington
have you decided yet when that
is to be?
Are you sure that Father
Birth: 1801-05-16 Death: 1872-10-10
did
not leave his ^my^ overcoat at home? I
think he told me he did.
I had a call last week from
Mr Allen
Birth: 1804-01-05 Death: 1881-10-10Certainty: Possible
of Auburn he came
down to the Rail Road Convention
Love to Fanny
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29
& all

Unknown Birth: 1803-11-01  Death: 1875-10-03

Your affectionate son
Will
PS
I opened the barrel of
apples the other day and found
them very nice indeed.
I think I left a pair of black
pants in my closet at home
Page 3

which will answer to work in,
if you find them I would like
to have you send them to me
I find that my stove fire &c have
cost me so much lately that I
am too poor to buy clothes, but
I have one satisfaction and that is
in thinking that last week I paid
up all my bills which I left in Auburn
or rather the last of them with the
exception of the Dentist
