Auburn March 19
My dear Sister
I am home once more and
right glad am I to be here again – Trip
Birth: 1851-06-13 Death: 1862
& I came over on Thursday evening – arrived
here at half past nine – dear Clara
Birth: 1793-05-01 Death: 1862-09-05
had done expecting me for that day
but we – Trip & I – were able to find
the house without any help – Eliza
was at the gate – thinking peradventure
we might come – Mr.McClallen
Birth: 1791-09-07 Death: 1860-11-16
hadbeen in bed ages – and Clara & Car-
lo were having a comfortable season
by the stove – I think Trip enjoys being
home again, as much as I do – Yesterday
Doct. Robinson
Birth: 1804-02-04 Death: 1889-07-28
came to see me – thinksI have intermittent fever – gave me
and left me medicine which has
already been of benefit to me –
this added to Christian hours of taking
my meals will undoubtedly cure
me in a short time – I have not yet
been up to your house – Mr. Patty
Birth: 1808 Death: 1876-12-11
reports all well – Next week I shall
be well and intend to make some
preparation for your coming – When
will that be? Week after next is
the 1st of April – The fire here
of which you have read the ac-
counts – was frightful – at one time
it was thought impossible to save
the rail road bridge and all
supposed the whole of water street
would be destroyed – I do not
yet see how it was saved –
the wind was blowing a perfect
hurricane from the west −
Mrs Watson
Birth: 1812-03-30 Death: 1893-11-13
was
spending the nightwith Mrs Pomeroy
Birth: 1834-03-20 Death: 1892-02-25
– When the alarmof fire was given she got up – came
down to her own house – packed her
furniture ready to move it – and
then gave refreshments to the
whole fire department – That's
being "strong minded" to some pur-
pose–
I have your Sunday's letter this
moment which I will answer
tomorrow – It came first to Can-
andaigua – which detained it
one day – Mr Patty is sitting
in the kitchen waiting for this
and as it would nearly kill
him to come again for it I
will finish it & send it now –
Love to all – Trip greets Bell
Birth: 1858
and will fight him if he
insists upon it immediately
on his arrival here –
Clara sends love – She is
cooking for a 3rd man
Unknown
– Mr. McClallen has hired – who eats as
much as two "Bulls & Dragons”
Good bye dear Sister
