My dearest Miss Hance
I fear you never
received my letter written some
three or four weeks ago in which
I desired you to spend you vaca-
tion or as much of it as possible
with us, I directed to Pal-
myra and perhaps you were
in Macedon, so I write again
hoping that you may at
least spend a short time
here, my vacation is a long
one this year not ending
I think until the second week
in September. How I wish yours
might be as long!

for two or three days with severe
toothache and neuralgia,
I do not know how to account
for it.
I have spent a delightful week
with Mrs. Gray the sister
of Ellen Perry
Ellen was also there, Mrs
Gray is but four years older
than myself and a very
interesting person. From
there I went on to Niagara
where I was met by Mother,
Aunt Clara
Worden
my first sight of the Falls
which far exceeded my high-
est expectations. I went under
the sheet of water with
Aunty, we did not wear
the oil skin dress. In Buff-
alo I visited the Cathedral,
the dock etc, and enjoyed

myself very much.
I was very sorry to hear
that your Mother

and hope they are now well.
We have every week
a long and interesting
letter from Father
last ^was^ from Paris, he has sent
me some pressed leaves and
flowers which would be suffi-
cient in themselves to make
any herbarium valuable.
I have a new canary, Tiny
by name, he sings sweetly
and looks very much like Lulu.
How I hope you can come,
do if you possibly can.
I have a cousin, Adeline
Youngs
she was here when you were,
two years ago and often

speaks of you.
Sarah How
learning a duett, it is very
pretty I am taking music
lessons this summer.
Mother, Addy and myself
are reading Goodrich's History
of England
In school I studied Grammar
and Geography, I am finishing
the latter.
Write to me dear teacher and
tell me that you will come.
Your ever affectionate
Fanny Seward
Miss Sarah D. Hance
P.S. Mother wrote in my other
letter seconding my invitation
but she is unable to do so now.
She and Aunty Worden send
love to you.
