Auburn Sunday Sept 22nd
My dear Father
We are all made
very happy by the good
news about Augustus
Birth: 1826-10-01 Death: 1876-09-11
– A
letter from him came just
before dinner yesterday, and
soon after Mother
Birth: 1805-09-24 Death: 1865-06-21
had written
to tell you of it we had
Fred’s
Birth: 1830-07-08 Death: 1915-04-25
telegram and found
that you already knew
it – We are in hopes that
he may stop here before
going to Washington –
We are so glad we went
there, I enjoyed it very
much – and shall always
remember the sights that
we saw there – I do wish
you would not go into Vir-
ginia as we hear of your
doing – the trial made the
day before we left was enough
for me, and I believe you have
since been still more venture-
some –
Our Regiment is doing well –
and filling up so rapidly
that they expect soon to go
into their camp between here
and the lake – Julia Warden’s
Birth: 1839-04-03 Death: 1866-01-11
youngest brother, James
Birth: 1843-08-24 Death: 1869-12-15
is
one of the volunteers.
Amity
Unknown
has gone to Canan-
daigua – to return tomorrow.
I like the photograph of
Mother’s side face very much –
though it is indistinct I think
it is the best likeness –
The next time I go to Washing-
ton I shall ask for my
Japanese letter – the “wall
paper” as Lord Lyons
Birth: 1817-04-06 Death: 1887-12-05
called it –
George Hewson
Birth: 1821 Death: 1861
died last week
after a long illness –
Did Mr Wakeman
Birth: 1824-03-31 Death: 1889-06-29Certainty: Probable
raise
a regiment? Fred gave seal to take
care of and I brought it
home? was that right?
All are well and send much
love – Aunt Clara
Birth: 1793-05-01 Death: 1862-09-05
is as happy
as can be, over the prospect of
Augustus’ return –
Your affectionate little girl
