My dear Mother,
Father
eight o' clock this morning. Your
dispatch of yesterday reached here
last night, and we are all glad
to be assured that Will
has had no relapse.
Mr Mercier
his Government to announce that
the rebel steamers building at
Nantes and Bordeaux, have been
stopped, and will not be allowed

to fit out, or sail. So we have passed
the crisis with France as we did with
England, and Mr Slidell
Mr Mason
If the rebels have any sense
remaining, they will see in the action
of England and France and in
the result of the elections, that all
hope of help from outside will
have to be abandoned.
Mr Mercier desires me to ask
you to say to Mr
you meet them, that he intends

sending them a photograph of the party
at Trenton Falls, and hoped to have
sent it before this time, but that he
has been waiting to get the autographs
of all the party, which will add to
its interest. Some of them are still out
of town.
Tell Fanny
for two parties, and two weddings this

on Thursday
Marshal Forey
Commander in Mexico, has arrived
in New York, and is to be invited
here. The Russians are also coming
in a few days.
