Monday Jan 8t
My dear Anna
Jenny
decided to go with
Will
Thursday and may
be in Washington
Saturday night
but probably not
until Satu Monday.
As Augustus
have to give them
his room, I would
suggest that there
be a fire made

in the 4th story room
before he occupies it
as the change may
bring back his
cough— I do not
think the little stove
will be needed in
Jenny's room—I wish
I were there to help
you in these arrangements
but the time of my
coming is somewhat
uncertain, depending
upon Aunty's
and attendants –
You have many
compliments, dear
Anna, on your

graceful manner of
entertaining company
which as they are
well merited, may
give you pleasure—
they certainly do
me—
I am truly thankful
that you have all
been preserved from
illness this Winter
and trust that
God may continue
to bless you all
very affectionately
Mother—
