My dear Father,
Jacob M. Brown
been absent from Auburn for some
time past and he writes me from
Peru where he is hunting for Oil, that
he will not be able to return for one or
two months yet. I presume there is
on this account a large numer of rents
& interest uncollected at home and I have
therefore today written to Patrick Judge
to look after & collect them, for the present,
and to Mr Day
the purpose. I hope this is satisfactory.
Your affectionate son
W H Seward Jr
