My dear Son
I wish you would
write me a letter
on purpose to tell me
how your arm is - you
will not mention it
if you have any other
subject, and I am
really very desirous
to know, whether it
improves or whether
it remains about as
when I came away.
Also how your general
health and strength
are. Mrs Perry
has just come in
to bring us the news
of Shermans

You can hardly imagine
how much deeper the
impression made here by
all military movements
than at Washington
when there are so many
other things to engage
attention.

is at present confined to
the house for some
treatments of his face
which is called a
cancerous affection by
the physicians. His con-
-finement is only temporary
he will be out again
this week.
Is John Wharton
at Elmira? if so
I wish he would come
and see us.
Tell Fanny
writing to her today
as Aunty
yesterday. I have
her letter of Saturday.
We have sunshine but
plenty of snow yet.
Love to Anna
God bless you my
dear son.
Mother.
