My dear Jenny
I enclose herein
an excellent photograph of
Fred
who tried to kill him & father
also one of Booth
latter have been suppressed by
order of the War Dept but a friend
of mind gave them to me. Show
them as much as you like but
do not allow any copies to be made
of them. I also enclose an
autograph of the President
Fred passed a very comfortable

night and is feeling very
well this morning. I think
he is nearly as well again as
he was when Aunty
He has had one severe hemorage
and two slight ones during the
last week and until yesterday
seemed quite low, we are in
constant fear of a return of,
the bleeding but the Physicians
still consider his case hopeful
It is very remarkable how soon
he rallies after such losses of
blood. We are much amazed
by the unauthorized reports in the
N. Y. papers about both father & Fred
having nearly recovered &c
As for fathers resuming business again
at the Dept next week there is

no truth in it. And if Fred
lives the Doctors say it will be
three months before he is able
to leave his room.
Fanny
past few days with sore throat
but is now much better. Mother
was taken quite ill yesterday morning
I think from the effects of
fatague and cold she passed
a very uncomfortable night but
is somewhat easier tohis daymorning
I hope she will be well again
in a day or two. I have
been hoping that Fred would
be enough better by this time to
allow me to run home for
one or two days as I am
anxious to see you and the
Children and look a little after

my business, but I see
no prospect of it just now.
I somewhat expect Mac
day or tomorrow and presume he
will go home soon after his
arrival here. The shirts & boots
arrived yesterday
I fear from your last letter
that you are not very well
please let me know just how
you are and always keep
me advised on that point
Your Will
Love to all
Tell Nelly that I shall
be home to see her one
of these days
