My dear Gus,
I see by the papers
that you are having rather [ boistrous ]
Alternate Text: boisterous
weather at Louisville but if it is
not very cold I suppose you will
like it – It is very mild with
us, only three cold days since
you left us. I assure you Gus
I miss you very much, Will
went to New York the same
week that you went away. I
called in a young lady friend

New York, a week ago Thursday, Aunty
expects them back every day, but
they have not come yet. It makes
it rather lonely for Aunty – The
papers this morning say your Father
has arrived at Havana – Mr Fitch
arrived in New York last Friday
is expected home tonight. I under-
stand he says your Father is to
spend the winter at St. Thomas
When we hear from Father I
will let you know – The book
of Photographs arrived the week
after New Years, it being addressed
to F. W. Seward
up in Freds library where it re-
mained until a letter came
saying they had made a mistake

in the address – It is very handsome
and the photographs are very beautiful.
I wish you could see it. I wish
again to express my thanks for all
of the beautiful photographs you
give me; they are a source of
constant enjoyment – The Perry
daughters are in
Buffalo visiting
Mrs Perry
you are interested in – I hope
you are pleased with your quarters.
Mother
love to you – the children are
well –
Your affectionate sister,
Janet W. Seward
