Biography
Harriet Foote (Norton) Tracy was born around 1800, the daughter of Ebenezer Foote and Abigail Kibbe Norton, in Connecticut. She relocated to New York with her parents around 1815. In 1825, Harriet married Albert Haller Tracy, an aspiring New York lawyer and politician. She and her husband had two sons, Albert Haller Tracy, Jr., and Francis Walsingham Tracy. Harriet and her husband Albert were friends of William H. and Frances Seward until 1834 when the friendship soured due to suspected romantic advances by Albert to Frances. After Alberts's death in 1859, Harriet remained unmarried until her death in 1876.
