From Roots Web: "In 1681, George POWNALL purchased 1000 acres from William PENN along the Delaware River, above PENN's intended home, Pennsbury Manor. Also with the POWNALL family on their move to the Colonies were three servants, John BREARELE (BREARLY), Thomas LEISTER and Martha WORRALL, who were to serve for four years. At the termination of their term, each was to receive 50 shillings and50 acres of land. This was the usual agreement. They were released on 29 Jul 1686. The POWNALL possessions loaded were 2 chests, 1 coffer, 3 gboxes, 1 bag, 2 bundles gty, 40 lbs new shoes, 1 1/2 pieces of English linen, 3 dozn wollen stockingsfor men, 2 cwt wrought iron, 2 cwt nails, 1/2 cwt cast lead, 1/4 cwt gunpowder, 1/2 chest window panes and 3 1/2 dozen felts. The death of George POWNALL was this first accidental death in Bucks Co." Ancestor of John Carlin.
