Betsy Pitney was the wife of Doctor Aaron Pitney, a homeopathic doctor. Dr. Aaron Pitney and Betsy lived in Chicago. Dr. Aaron Pitney is the brother of Joseph Pitney, also a doctor, and an Auburn, NY, native. When Frances refers to a "Mrs Pitney" from "Chicago" she is likely referring to Betsy. After Betsy's death in 1860, Aaron Pitney married a Margaret Pitney. Aaron and Betsy did not have any children, or at least not any that outlived them.
