Clara Miller Bacon was born in Romulus, Seneca County, New York, the daughter of Ezra and Zeviah (Parke) Miller. She was a first cousin to Frances Miller Seward through her father, Ezra, who was a brother of Judge Elijah Miller. She married Thaddeus Waite Bacon on September 30th, 1857 and the couple had four children, two daughters – Frances Lazette, Clara Elnora, and two sons – Thaddeus Waite and Francis Miller. They lived in China, St. Clair County, Michigan where they maintained a family farm. Clara died July 7, 1911.
