Biography

Wife of John Barentse Yates (politician) of Albany. 18341123WHS_FMS1: WHS attends a Baptist Church in Albany and meets Mrs. J. B. Yates there.
 John's father was Col. Christopher Yates (see Find-A-Grave link below) and his mother was Jannetje (Jane) Bradt. John's siblings were the Rev. Andrew Yates, Joseph Christopher Yates (b. 1768), and Henry C. Yates (1770-1845).  Joseph Christopher was the mayor of Schenectady, a state senator and judge. Barentse invested in canal work and had an extensive estate when he died.
 John Barentse's nephew, Edward, married Elizabeth Jane Miller (the half-sister of Abijah Miller, Jr.).
