Mentioned in 18321227FMS_WHS when gossiper Deb drops by "Cooley's store" to tell him that Francis said he would never be invited to another party because Cooley did not respond to a previous invitation. According to The History of Redding Connecticut (1906) by Charles Burr Todd, Henry H. Cooley was a merchant in Auburn, NY. He married an Elizabeth Strong. Also, according to Henry Hall's The History of Auburn (1869), Cooley and Rathbun owned a brick dry-goods store that was unfortunately consumed in a fire on January 21, 1837 (p. 210). Also, according to The Friend of Man newspaper, in August 1841, Henry H. Cooley served on a committee to find delegates to attend the Senatorial Convention and promote the anti-slavery cause. He served on this board with Abijah Fitch, Samuel C. Cuyley and J.R. Hopkins.
