Biography
Carlo may or may not be the Worden's dog. In a letter from August 6, 1859 Fanny writes “Arrived about nine or ten—Will, Kate, Mary Huntington & Carlo were at the depot.” On December 30, 1860 Fanny writes “The Doctor (senior) & his pretty little dog Carlo came—he (the doctor) left me some throat medicine…The doctor & Carlo came again.” On May 1, 1862 Fanny writes “Aunt Clara came up in the evening she did not seem well— Carlo came with her, as cunning as ever.” On January 23, 1863 Fanny writes to her Aunt Lazette that they believe she is safely back in Auburn with Tom purring on her lap and Carlo reposing behind the stove. On June 14, 1863 Fanny writes “Carlo has succeeded in finding a squirrel in one of our trees, to bark at. I thought I heard another near my balcony.” On November 15, 1863 Fanny writes “Carlo and I are left alone in the office.” On May 00, 1845 Lazette write "I have just seen the circus pass- among others were six little horses two of them were not much larger than Carlo" and "I think Carlo enjoyed seeing them pass- he stood in a chair by the front window and put his paws on the window sill & looked very attractively until they had all disappeared."
