Biography

A brother-in-law of John Duer, Morris Robinson, the first cashier of the Bank of Orange County, was a son of Beverly Robinson, of the British army, whose father was Col. Beverly Robinson, one of the historic associates in the treason of Benedict Arnold.

Found in 18380715WHS_BJS1: "On the 11th instant the title of Chau-
tauque  passed to John Duer  Morris Robinson  and W.H.Seward
in trust for the various owners and without encumbrance."

Morris Robinson's brother, Beverly Robinson III, married Frances Duer. Frances Duer was John Duer's sister.
