Biography

Joseph Christopher Yates was born in Schenectady, New York and was the 4th Governor of New York State. He served after Dewitt Clinton's first term and was succeeded by Dewitt Clinton in 1824. From 1808 to 1822 he served as Supreme Court Justice.
