Biography: He entered into a milling business partnership with his brother-in-law A.D. Leonard in Auburn, N.Y. In 1837 or 1838 he moved to Montgomery County, Tennessee, where he constructed the first grist mill in that state. In 1857 he moved back to New York State, then West to Darlington, Wisconsin.
