Biography
A favorite niece of Washington Irving. Daughter of Irving’s sister Catherine. Her father, Daniel Paris of Albany, NY, was a lawyer and member of the New York State Legislature. Sarah married Thomas Wentworth Storrow, Jr. in 1841 and the couple lived in France. They had two children: Susan Van Wart Storrow (1844 - 1865) and Julie Grinnell Storrow Cruger (1848 - 1920). Sarah visited and corresponded with Irving frequently, both before and after her marriage. In 1838 she visited the Seward family in Auburn with Irving as the two were en route to Geneva, NY to attend the wedding of Sarah's cousin Theodore Irving.
