Her mother was Jane Abigail Robinson (October 4, 1819-February 12, 1898). Miles and Jane married on November 12, 1839. Miles appears to have been both a banker and a tanner according to census data. Jane Abigail Robinson was a member of the Martha Washington Society in Auburn and a founder, along with FMS, of the Ladies Union Aid Society.
