Sarah was diagnosed with consumption by Dr. Williams in November 1841 and died the following month. She was eight years old when she passed and FMS described being with Sarah in her last few days. Sarah "died easily but has suffered much with pain during her illness." Her death hit her mother hard and FMS said " The coloured people have been kind to Harriet." Both WHS and FMS attended Sarah's funeral.
