Biography

She was the oldest daughter of Hon. Gerrit Wendell of Cambridge, Washington county, NY. She married Martin Lee in 1811. She lived in Albany in 1838-1841 as her husband served in the State Senate. After 1841, they resettled in Washington County, NY. They had multiple children together, three of whom died in infancy and one who died in 1840. Cornelia Lee passed away in 1840 at the age of 24 and FMS said Anna Lee "suffered severely" at the loss of her daughter.  (FMS wrote that Cornelia died at age 25, but she was actually 24.)
