RelationshipsBiography
George Harbottle lived in Auburn with his wife Sarah Miller Harbottle. He and Sarah got married sometime before 1843, because FMS says to LMW "Sarah Miller is married to Harbottle" in a letter from June 11, 1843, so they must have been married sometime before then. Harbottle was a jeweler, and was in partnership with John H. Chedell (silversmith) from 1834-1850 and then started the firm Harbottle and Smith with Charles Augustus Smith in 1850 until 1867. Ancestry lists a New York State Census from 1855 with three children (Helen-11, Cornelia-3, Catherine-0). There is also an Ellen Finn listed (age 17) who is a servant and Cornelia A Miller (age 53), who is Sarah Miller's mother.
