WSJ wrote to WHS in 1871 that the firm of Weed, Parsons, & Co of Albany burned out in 1871 and the firm lost 300,00 over their insurance. Was able to identify Parsons from the New York Supplement, Volume 21 book (source listed below) as John D. Parsons. This led to a possible match with a tombstone from Albany that listed a John D Parsons buried there. However, cannot currently find any more sources on Parsons so can't completely verify that the Find a Grave tombstone matches and gives us the right DOB/DOD. -csh
