Biography
Isaac Bledsoe Desha was convicted of one murder (twice) in Kentucky but the case was thrown out both times on procedural grounds in a heated conflict involving the political position of his father, Gov. Joseph Desha, and the Old Court-New Court Controversy. After an attempted suicide, Desha's father pardoned him and he left, eventually winding up in Texas, where he confessed to a different murder. The day before trial, he died of a fever-related illness.
