Biography
Eliza (or Anneliza) Doyle was a servant for FMS, referenced in 18481107FMS_LMW "...and since I have talked with Eliza Doyle in the subject she is much more attentive at table." Eliza was born in Ireland and moved to the US at a young age. She married Daniel Tehan and had 4 sons and 6 daughters with him, before dying in 1884. In an 1880 census record, she was listed as having Leier Disease, an adult kidney disease that can also cause cardiovascular abnormalities, so presumedly she died of complications due to that. Late 1848, FMS quarrels with Eliza's mother over who would employ Eliza and the amount of pay she should receive. Eliza and her mother reluctantly agreed to let Eliza go to work for LMW for a year after a December 1848 letter, but it is not clear if Eliza actually did.
