Biography

Born in Maryland, Green moved to Ohio in 1833 where he studied law. In 1851-1855, he was elected as a Democrat and served in Congress. After his term, he served as clerk of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio from 1855 to 1866 in Columbus Ohio. He later became the editor of The Plain Dealer during 1866-1874.
