Biography
Rev. Dr. Gurdon S. Coit was a Connecticut Deacon. He was ordinated as a Deacon in 1830 and earned his Doctor of Divinity from Trinity College in 1853. He worked at several different churches in Connecticut during the mid-1800s and lived in the state for his whole life. He and his wife, Eleanor Forrester, had ten children and he died in Fairfield, CT in 1869.
In a letter from Clarance Armstrong Seward to Frederick William Seward on June 30, 1864, Clarance wrote that Gurdon' son, Forrester, was living in Ningbo, China on mercantile business.
